정장선 평택시장은 9일 신임 폴 J. 라캐머러 유엔사․연합사․주한미군 사령관을 캠프 험프리스 내 주한미군사령부에서 만나 상호 관심사와 협력방안에 대해 논의했다. 

정 시장은 취임 축하 인사와 함께 “최근 코로나19로 상황이 엄중한 가운데 한반도 평화수호와 급변하는 안보 환경 속에서 그 어느 때보다 주한미군의 역할과 임무 수행이 중요한 시기임을 강조하며, 평택시도 한미동맹과 지역사회와의 상생 발전을 위해 각 분야에서 적극 협조해 나갈 것이다”고 밝혔습니다.

Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jang-seon met with the new commander of the UNC/CFC/USFK commander Paul J. Lacamerer at the USFK Command in Camp Humphreys on the 9th to discuss mutual interests & ways of cooperation.

Pyeongtaek City Mayor Jung Jang-seon congratulated the inauguration and said, “Amid the recent severe situation due to COVID-19, we emphasize that the role & mission of the USFK is more important than ever in the rapidly changing security environment and the protection of peace on the Korean Peninsula. We will actively cooperate in each field for win-win development with the alliance & the local community,” he said.
