김홍이/Alexander Utt. 기자= 한미 정상회담 10월 30일 후 미 트럼프 대통령이 SNS로 한국 이재명 대통령이 요청한 핵잠수함을 승인했습니다. 지난 정부때부터 추진하다 못이룬걸 이재명 정부가 이루어졌습니다. 미국 조선업 부활에 도움되고 우리나라 군사력 강화에도 도움이 되는 윈윈이 될 것으로 기대되는 메시지입니다.

또한 미 핵잠수함 기술은 미군이 보유한 기술 중 가장 민감하고 고도로 보호되는 기술 중 하나로 널리 알려져 있습니다. 미국은 핵잠수함 지식을 매우 보호해 왔으며, 심지어 최근 가까운 동맹국인 영국, 호주에 핵잠수함 기술을 확보하는 것을 돕기로 발표한 거래에서 조차 미국의 기술을 직접적으로 이전하는 내용은 포함되어 있지 않는다고 언급했습니다.

따라서 미 트럼프 대통령은 한국은 필라델피아 조선소에 원자력 잠수함을 건조할 것이며, 우리나라의 조선소는 곧 큰 컴백을 할 것이 라고 밝혔습니다.

Following the Republic of Korea-US summit on October 30th, US President Trump announced on social media that he had approved Republic of Korean President Lee Jae-myung's request for nuclear submarines. The Lee Jae-myung administration has achieved what the previous administration had been pushing for but failed to achieve. This is expected to be a win-win situation, contributing to the revival of the US shipbuilding industry and strengthening Republic of Korea's military capabilities.

Furthermore, US nuclear submarine technology is widely known as one of the most sensitive & highly protected technologies possessed by the US military. The US has been highly protective of its nuclear submarine knowledge, and even recently announced deals with close allies the UK and Australia to help them acquire nuclear submarine technology didn't include direct transfers of US technology.

Accordingly, Republic of Korea will build nuclear submarines at its Philadelphia shipyard, and Republic of Korean shipyards are poised for a major comeback.
